The 18th Annual Latin Grammy nominations are in and both Los Palominos and singer/songwriter Juan Treviño have been nominated. The announcements were made this past Tuesday (September 26th).
This year’s Latin Grammy Awards are scheduled for Nov. 16 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to be broadcast on Univision.
Los Palominos’ album Piensalo is nominated in the Best Norteño Album. This particular album has had much success with songs like “Me Muero”, “Tuyo Quiero Ser”, Cuando Te Enamoras and, of course, the title track “Piensalo”. If Los Palominos win, this would be their 3rd Latin Grammy.
Juan Treviño, out of Houston, whom has written songs for Tejano artists like La Mafia, Solido, Siggno, David Lee Garza, Los Palominos, Elida Reyna, Michael Salgado and others, receives his nomination in the Best Mexican Regional Song category for “Siempre Es Asi”, off of his Fragmentos album. It’s a love song on which AJ Castillo also collaborated.
That’s the good news. Now on the downside, due to a low number of entries, the Best Tejano Album will not be awarded this year.
