Super Tejano 102.1 has learned that Grammy Award-winning accordionist, arranger and producer Rick Fuentes, will be going on his own after over 20 years of being a part of The Mexican Revolution alongside Living Legend Ruben Ramos to now form the next generation of his father’s group, the legendary Brown Express.
According to sources he will be joined by a group of very gifted musicians.
Rick actually has family and roots right her in South Texas but he was born and raised in San Jose, California, His father was non other than Ricardo “Richard” Fuentes, from the The Brown Express.
In 1983 Rick’s Dad Richard, while touring with The Brown Express, were involved in a rollover accident. Richard and another band member were killed.
Rick later spent a few years with former member of The Brown Express, Chavela y Grupo Express before her accidental death.
Rick also had a quick stint with Fandango USA and 2 decades with “El Gato Negro”, Ruben Ramos. But know he feels that it’s time to carry on his father’s legacy with his new endeavor as Rick Fuentes and The Brown Express. We at Super Tejano 102.1 wish Rick very well deserved success.
